Benjamín Naishtat

Born in 1986 in Buenos Aires. Benjamín Naishtat studied at the Buenos Aires University of Cinema, completing his training at Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains (France). He has directed short films including El juego (2010), premiered at the Cannes Festival, and more experimental works such as his video, Historia del mal (2011), premiered at Rotterdam. Historia del miedo (2014), his first feature film, was selected for Films in Progress 24 (San Sebastian 2013); it later competed at Berlin and landed the Best Film Award at Jeonju Festival. Rojo (2018), his latest film, was selected at San Sebastián International Film Festival where it received 3 awards (Silver Shell for Best Director, Silver Shell for Best Actor (Darío Grandinetti) and Jury Prize for Best Cinematography).
