They Don’t Represent Us

Inspired by her own experience as a student of the Beaux-Arts in Madrid and “indignant youth” on the Puerta del Sol in 2011, the young film director of the High School of Art and Design in Geneva, Irene Muñoz, wonders about art as production of identities and its use in the service of power.

Synopsis

How to emancipate from the reproduction of famous paintings and significant political events, to engage a genuine process of creation and claim?

This documentary essay written in the first person questions the use of art during conflicts and the diversion of the cultural symbols as a vehicle of ideologies.
